1. Who We Are
EchoVaani ("we", "us", "our") is operated by the EchoVaani team. For privacy-related enquiries, contact us at privacy@echovaani.life.
2. What Information We Collect
When you use EchoVaani, we may collect:
- Account information: your name, email address, and hashed password.
- Persona data: names, descriptions, personality prompts, and photographs you provide for the personas you create.
- Voice samples: audio recordings you upload or record for voice cloning purposes.
- Memory entries: text memories you add to a persona's knowledge base.
- Conversation history: the text of messages exchanged in chat sessions.
- Payment information: handled entirely by Whop (our payment processor). We do not store card details.
- Usage data: session counts, feature usage metrics for rate limiting and plan enforcement.
3. How We Use Your Information
- To provide the EchoVaani service — generating conversations and voice responses.
- To personalise each persona with the memories and voice you provide.
- To send you account-related emails (verification, password reset).
- To enforce subscription tier limits and prevent abuse.
- To improve service reliability and debug issues.
We do not sell your personal data or use it for advertising.
4. Voice Data & AI Processing
Voice samples you upload are sent to Cartesia AI for voice cloning. Your audio is processed under Cartesia's data processing terms. We store only the resulting voice model ID — not the raw audio — after cloning completes.
Conversation messages are sent to Groq (Llama 3.3) for AI response generation. Conversations are stored in our database to provide chat history.
5. Data Storage & Security
Your data is stored in a Supabase PostgreSQL database hosted in a secure data centre. We use bcrypt password hashing, HTTPS-only communication, and JWT-based authentication.
Photos and avatars are stored in Supabase Storage with restricted access policies.
6. Data Retention
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete a persona, its associated memories and voice model are deleted. You may request full account deletion by emailing privacy@echovaani.life — we will delete your data within 30 days.

8. Cookies & Local Storage
We use browser localStorage to store your authentication token and cached user preferences. We do not use third-party tracking cookies or analytics.
9. Children's Privacy
EchoVaani is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from users under 13 years of age.
10. Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data. Contact privacy@echovaani.life to exercise these rights.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy occasionally. We will notify you of significant changes by email. Continued use of EchoVaani after notice constitutes acceptance.
